Queen of Hearts : below the deck of cards

Britney Spears was the first to sing Oops!… I did it again! But tonight, it’s to Haley Reinhart’s vintage and sparkling interpretation, alongside Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox, that five majestic Crazy Horse queens leap onto the stage. To a scarlet backdrop their silhouettes are seen and their game revealed, dazzling and irresistible. Dressed in regal costumes by Chantal Thomass, they move forward with the resolute intention of taking control… of your emotions. Spades, hearts, clubs, diamonds, whatever the card, you’re missing the trump, they are the mistresses of the game… for your utter enjoyment. Suspended in the air between stage and audience, they sensually balance to and fro in this joyous and sparkling realm, a seductive smile here, an enchanting glance there. No bluffing, no cheating, their only trump card is their charm… thereby laying your heart bare on the table.

By creating the Dessous Dessus show in 2016, the brilliant Chantal Thomass happily rises to the challenge to be the very first female Guest Creator of the Crazy Horse Paris, following in the footsteps of Philippe Decouflé and Christian Louboutin. “When Andrée Deissenberg came up to me and proposed this beautiful adventure to me, I didn’t hesitate an instant”, she says. “I was certain this would be an extraordinary experience, an unexplored creative universe and I had carte blanche: What can be more exciting than taking up such a challenge?” And at Le Crazy, a Queen of Hearts was needed! Together with the choreographer Stéphane Jarny, it’s one of the acts she produced during this collaboration. True to her reputation as high priestess of chic lingerie, for the legendary Crazy Horse dancers she created sensual and delicate garments. The refined and Parisian universe of a designer and artist at the summum of her art presents a Queendom of fantasy, glamour and illusion.
