For a second time, dance photographer Daria Troitskaia went backstage at the cabaret. From rehearsals to dressing rooms, she captured the dancers in their daily lives and intimacy. Here’s a glimpse of this immersive experience.
"This time, I had the unique opportunity to photograph the backstage of Crazy Horse Paris. An experience that offered an entirely new perspective of the show. I was particularly intrigued to witness the performance from behind the scenes, observing not only the precision and fluidity with which everyone worked, from technicians to dancers, but also the remarkably warm and welcoming atmosphere." explain Daria Troitskaia.
In May, she spent 3 days with the Crazy girls as they rehearsed the new act “Vertiges”.
Italy-based photographer, Daria Troitskaia, was born in Saint Petersburg and educated in Vienna. Her passion for art was an undeniable source of inspiration from the start. After taking courses in art and photography, she moved to Malta and later to Milan. It became a turning point that transformed Daria’s passion for photography into a vocation.
Her artistic journey is defined by four integral components — continuous movement, a sense of adventure, self-challenges, and a unique perspective. Daria's photographs are never static. They always retain a sense of movement and vitality. Every picture has a story to tell. There are many such stories in Daria's photography book Maltese Exposures (2020).
