Lady's night out
Radiant, rebellious and an all-around exceptional woman, the Guest Star of the famed cabaret performed four new numbers during a few select performances. Eclectic actress, well-known singer, inspiration to many a great movie director and committed feminist, Clotilde Courau performed in original and tailor-made acts.
They were developed for her by Ali Mahdavi, the “Désirs” show’s artistic director and Patricia Folly, dancer and creator at the Crazy Horse Paris.
Tribute to Colette Renard
Clotilde Courau chose some of the music that went into the creation of her show. One of these is the well-known song “Nuits d’une demoiselle”, by Colette Renard. With unmatched talent, Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli made her costumes.
Naturally seductive and audacious, Clotilde Courau became even more alluring as she was bathed in colorful lights, trademark of the Parisian venue. The famous cabaret, founded more than 60 years ago by Alain Bernardin, is known the world over for this vivid play of light and shadow.
Fully accepting her feminist stance
“I’m extremely happy to be able to perform at the most avant-garde and elegant cabaret in the world and to work with such great talents as Roberto Cavalli, Ali Mahdavi, Patricia Folly and the amazing music arranger David Coultard,” Clotilde Courau revealed.
“It’s her femininity and her strong feminist stance that got us interested in working with her,” the general manager, Andrée Deissenberg, explained. After Dita, who revisited the Crazy Horse repertoire with her personal touch of modernity, Pamela and the discordance between her being on stage and also being a Playboy icon, Clotilde has enabled the Crazy to highlight a whole different aspect of femininity.
