Our sparkly-eyed dancer, Bamby Splish Splash, has been fascinated by showing her artistic side in some form or other throughout her entire life. Allow us to introduce you!

How and why did you join the prestigious Crazy Horse Paris Girls troop?

I have wanted to go into drama for as long as I can remember! It was just something I knew from the day I was born. It’s more than just a fad, I’m driven. I have always loved Crazy Horse Paris due to its reputation as a luxury dance show. Crazy Horse Paris stands out from other cabaret halls, with its own unique, original and unusual style, the girls are really shown to their advantage.

It took me a while to become a Crazy Horse Paris Girl. I promised myself that when I reached the age of 18 I would try my luck, although I assumed I was unlikely to be selected. I have always taken drama and dance classes, however I don’t come from a traditional drama school, which meant that I wasn’t sure I had the right background. When I was 19, on January 1st, 2015, I finally sent my application in thinking, “I have nothing to lose”. I was lucky and a try out was organised in my home town on the next day, I took the date as a good sign and went… and I was selected! I started out with a tour in Seoul, which is a pretty unusual way to begin, before heading to the mythical Crazy Horse Paris stage for the first time about a year later.

How do you spend your time when you aren’t on stage?

I rapidly found another way to express myself, something I find essential. I had played the role of Disney princesses, and I discovered a whole new and fascinating world: pins! I started by buying some, and following pin designers on Instagram…I had a few ideas of my own, and wanted to bring them to life. I launched my own â€śBamby Original” brand.

I then had the honor of designing a series of pins for Crazy Horse Paris: the iconic Crazy Girls wig in eight different colours. I started with black, blue, pink and yellow, and later added green and red, and the last two are now purple and orange.

Which is your favorite scene and why?

It is difficult to just pick one, I love Chain Gang and Lay Laser Lay. Both of these scenes give me plenty of freedom to play a role. They allow me to develop my artistry, express my inner self and the part of myself that I wish to share with the audience. The wild, almost beastly, sensuality of Lay Laser Lay is also a powerful feeling for me, something I love to merge with and express. I have only recently started to play this role, and I simply love it!

How would you describe a Crazy Girl?

I like to describe Crazy Girls using three Cs: classy, charismatic and curvy. But being a Crazy Girl is clearly much more than that! One other point is important for me, I feel that my “Crazy Girl” role and my “alter ego” are one and the same. Even though I play a role on stage, I still bring my background and my feelings to the show, I am not betraying myself in any way, this is really me. I also greatly admire women in general, particularly my aunty! She is so strong, I can but respect her… and my Crazy Girl colleagues!

Before an enthusiastic celebrity audience, Patricia Folly, alias Psykko Tico, choreographer and dancer at Crazy Horse Paris, took to the catwalk at Jean–Paul Gaultier’s Spring-Summer 2011 Couture presentation.

On 26th January 2011, at the fashion house’s headquarters. Psykko Tico wore the "Can Can" wedding dress specially created for the occasion. A fully embroidered white ruffle dress with a "legs" print under the skirt, bringing a magnificent end to the haute couture show.

Capture some unique and privileged moments

Riccardo Tinelli has sought to capture some unique and privileged moments to show us the dancers as they truly are. Their natural sensuality and spontaneity hide the complexity and rigour required of a professional dancer. With the photographer’s lens as their accomplice, they play along with the camera to reveal some rare and intimate moments.

Behind the lights, the Crazy Horse girls reveal a world of fantasy and myth. Sparkling bodies in impossible poses. Beautiful and elegant costumes. Enigmatic expressions and impish smiles. Mischievous and seductive… In his photographs, Riccardo Tinelli reveals the fascinating characters of these dancers, totally committed to their passion: dance. Much more than a passion, it is an ever-present obsession, a vector of creativity and a means of communication. Visitors to the exhibition will get a chance to see “behind the lights” and discover the soul of this celebrated Paris cabaret.

The Crazy Horse and his artistic signature

The original Crazy Horse cabaret – also commonly referred to as Le Crazy – was founded in 1951 in Paris by Alain Bernardin, an avant-garde artist, passionate admirer of women and the female form. Fascinated by American show girls and the United States in general, he was driven by a single idea: to make artistic creation and women the focus of his cabaret.

Over the years, Bernardin developed a unique and highly recognizable artistic signature. Each of his acts was conceived as a tableau with its own storyline, combining classically trained dancers with perfect, arched bodies dressed primarily in lights, with original choreography, sets, projections, and the latest musical and fashion trends. This artistic signature was rapidly appraised among artists as well as the general public – pleasing women and men alike.

Still today Le Crazy’s rich artistic legacy is recognized and celebrated among artists and designers, with many of whom Le Crazy has collaborated on numerous shows and creative projects, including: Christian Louboutin, Swizz Beatz, Beyoncé, David Lynch, Bob Sinclar, Roberto Cavalli, Ellen von Unwerth, Paco Rabanne, Karl Lagerfeld, Emmanuel Ungaro, César, Kylie Minogue, Azzedine Alaia, Christina Aguilera, Philippe Decouflé, Ali Mahdavi, etc.

After more than sixty years since its inception, Le Crazy continues to reinvent itself and the inexhaustible subject of women and femininity. The cabaret company has diversified its activities and developed its unique brand and know-how far beyond France.

They have oodles of sparkle and glamour, bodies brimming with tone and grace, and they dreamed of one day joining Crazy Horse Paris: let’s give a warm welcome to our new dancers!

Troupe Crazy Horse By Rémi Desclaux

A love for stage and for Crazy Horse Paris

The new Crazy Girls are now realizing a beautiful dream: of joining the troupe of Crazy Horse Paris and becoming one of those legendary dancers, odes to femininity and freedom, who make the identity and fame of Crazy Horse Paris.

A demanding but fascinating learning experience

To be able to incarnate glamour and sensuality, Woman in her purest essence, there is a subtle balance between the innate and … lots of hard work. When it comes to beauty, the girls have it all. But now they need to learn how to become that quintessence of femininity that both represents and makes the identity of a Crazy Girl.

It is notably while rehearsing "U turn me on", the iconic finale of Crazy Horse Paris, used in the show "Totally Crazy", that the girls discover all the technicality and the intensity of the work required by the director Svetlana Kostantinova. And if the dance is an ode to femininity, the play of looks is also at the heart of what makes the dancers of Crazy Horse Paris unique.

Curves, movements, and winks: nothing is left to chance for transcending the woman into her emotions and her personality.

Make-up lesson: enhancing the face

Being a dancer at Crazy Horse means being a woman down to the tips of your eyelashes. If the hip sway and pace is Svetlana’s domain, it is the captain of the dancers Mika Do who accompanies the new recruits in their first Crazy make-up. The goal? A doll’s face, an intense look, and a strongly assertive personality.

In the expert hands of Mika Do, brushes, false eyelashes, eye shadow, and blushes are magic instruments that enhance the beauty of the two girls, transforming them into Crazy Girls, with doe eyes and red mouths.  And here they are, ready to bewitch the audience!

The Crazy Girls are on stage!

It is a Crazy Horse Paris tradition: the baptism of the stage name of the dancers takes place on the evening of their first public appearance. Bye-bye Daniela and Fleur, hello Tina Tobago and Kika Revolver! A moment full of emotion, and shared with the other dancers, which truly marks the entrance of the two recruits into the house.

The stage début, long-awaited, finally takes place on the same evening for the two young women. Somewhere between stress and euphoria, they experience the live stage, the costumes, the audience… the glamorous dream that is now a reality.

Discover the latest Crazy Girls to join the troupe!

The famed Crazy Horse Paris, following two separate auditions, has integrated seven new dancers into its acclaimed Crazy Girls dance troupe.

These new recruits needed to meet the stringent physical requirements set forth by Alain Bernardin, Crazy Horse Paris founder and great admirer of women and femininity, in 1951, so as to respect the tradition and spirit of this legendary venue.

Previously, the criteria for joining the troupe were extremely selective. Candidates should not be less than 1m68 and more than 1m72 in height in order to maintain visual harmony on stage and respect a one-third to two-thirds ratio between the length of their legs and their bust. The distance between the two tips of the breasts had to be 21 cm, and the distance between the navel and the pubis had to be 13 cm.

Today, this is nothing compared to the importance of having this little “that little something extra”, a touch of "crazy" and originality, as Alain Bernardin liked to say.

Ballet dance training required

Minimum age is 18 to be able to apply at one of the numerous auditions. Furthermore, to become part of the Crazy Horse dance troupe, you must have receivet classical ballet dance-lessons.

The Crazy Horse particularly appreciates candidates with acting talent, which makes all the difference when performing the different acts of the show on the acclaimed stage.

The fortunate few who make the audition will receive 3 to 5 months training, during which they will learn how to become true Crazy Girls and then go on to captivate the public of not only the legendary Parisian cabaret, but also audiences at theaters around the world.

Dancers of Crazy Horse Paris and surfers : discover our stars of the waves!

The troupe of “Forever Crazy” is currently touring Australia and Asia. Between two shows, three Crazy Girls are giving free rein to their second passion: surfing…

Waves, pleasure and discipline

More than a hobby, surfing is a true passion for some of the troupe’s dancers and in particular the volcanic Zitta Zurbaghan, Margaux La Chapelle and Bamby Splish Splash.

These three young women, at home in their skin and in their time, unveil their sublime bodies and their radiant femininity on stage, performing the legendary acts of the “Forever Crazy” show.  During the day, it is with a pleasure renewed each time that they rush into the ocean in search of the perfect wave, the one that will make them thrill with excitement.

Surfing is not improvised: this invigorating sport demands discipline, skill, and top physical fitness. But this is no worries for our naiads, who, like all the dancers of the troupe, rehearse for the show every day. This only means that they bring an extra grace and femininity in their practice of boardsports.

Meet our surfer dancers!

A California blonde with a luscious mouth, Margaux La Chapelle is a true enthusiast, always looking for a new challenge or a new adventure. Her greatest passion? Crazy Horse Paris, of course!

How is surfing an integral part of your Crazy Girl life?
I discovered this sport seven years ago and it changed my life. Ever since I’ve been part of the troupe, I’ve actually been able to practice it. In fact, I’ve had the good luck to go on tour with the show “Forever Crazy” and to be able to surf at the same time in so many different countries and incredible spots!

What are the sensations you are looking for in your surfing?
First of all, I love everything about surfing: the philosophy of life, the rhythm of life, discovering such exquisite spots, being in the water, not thinking about anything…Just riding, clearing my head.

I love the adventure that it brings; the challenge and the energy.

When I leave a session of surfing I feel emptied of any bad energy, calmed, invigorated, motivated for the rest of the day. I like this feeling of well-being, I feel good in my body and in my mind because I feel proud of myself.
Proud of getting myself back into the water, even very early in the morning, when it’s cold outside and inside, sometimes in the rain, after a long walk to get to the spot, before a rehearsal or a show.
Proud to have challenged myself and not to have been afraid despite that apprehension I always feel.

Zitta Zurbaghan is a talented artist (she is also a trapeze artist!) and a young woman with a stunning smile and a mane lightened by the sun and spray that goes down to her perfect waist. Cat-like on the stage of the Crazy Horse Paris in a solo like “Chain Gang“, she is equally at ease among the waves.

What is your happiest surfing memory?
My happiest memory is still the day we set out for a surfing adventure on the island of Taiwan. A beautiful black sand beach with some pretty stormy weather: that was a magical atmosphere!

We met a surf photographer on the beach, he came pretty regularly to take some fantastic pictures of us.

The last day before we left, he insisted on having us over for tea and to introduce us to his family. It was magical to be able to experience that moment with a local family.

What is your favorite spot?
Australia is by far one of the best spots for surfing. The landscape is crazy!

We are currently there during the winter period, which means that the water is cold but the atmosphere is sublime.

How is surfing an integral part of your Crazy Girl life?
Surfing is an integral part of my Crazy Girl life because there is this madness, this risk-taking that is totally “CRAZY”.

A veritable imp, Bamby Splish Splash lights up the stage with her sparkling glance and her brilliant smile. At the Crazy Horse Paris, the baby of the troupe not only found a vocation, but also friends for life.

Both a surfer and a Crazy Girl: is that possible?
Surfing has become an integral part of our Crazy Girls life… Thanks to our travels, it’s practically a daily activity. Surfing is a part of the rhythm of our touring life almost as much as the stage.  Surfing during the day and Crazy Horse Paris at night, it’s almost a double life, don’t you think?

What do you get out of it?
I’m constantly in search of well-being: Meditation and being in contact with nature are the main sources that give me balance.

Surfing allows me to have this privileged time to recharge my batteries. And then again, let’s not forget that it’s a demanding sport too! So twice the reason to get into it! Even for the daintiest among us!

Your happiest memory?
The first time I could get up and ride my first wave. The discovery of this sensation is still ingrained in my body. And the memory of seeing the bottom of the water from the top of my board at that moment. Unforgettable.
